SERVER-SIDE TRACKING

Server-Side Tracking Built on Infrastructure You Control

We deploy server-side Google Tag Manager on your own subdomain, then route GA4, Google Ads and Meta data through it. You decide what each platform receives, cookies are set first-party, and the setup is documented end to end.

SERVER-SIDE TRACKING

Server-Side Tracking Services

Four focused services, from the sGTM container itself to the GA4, Google Ads and Meta tags that run inside it.

Route GA4 through your own server container with first-party cookies and cleaned event data.

Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags run in sGTM, with click IDs stored first-party.

Meta Conversions API tag in your sGTM container, sent from your own first-party endpoint.

Server container setup, hosting, custom subdomain and routing, ready for every platform.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Why Move Tracking to the Server

Browser tags depend on scripts that browsers, extensions and privacy settings increasingly restrict. A server container gives you one controlled point where data is collected, cleaned and forwarded.

Control Over Outgoing Data

You decide which parameters reach each vendor. PII can be hashed or removed before anything leaves your server.

First-Party Collection Endpoint

Hits go to a subdomain like data.yoursite.com instead of third-party domains, so cookies are set by your own server.

Lighter Pages

One stream from the browser can feed several platforms, which means fewer vendor scripts loading on every page view.

Sturdier Conversion Signals

Server-set cookies and server-to-server requests are less exposed to the browser restrictions that break client-side tags.

PROCESS

How We Deliver Server-Side Tracking

The same documented five-step process on every project, so nothing goes live unvalidated.

01

Audit

Audit current client-side tags, cookies, consent setup and data flowing to each vendor

02

Strategy

Plan hosting, subdomain, clients, tags and which platforms move to the server first

03

Implementation

Deploy the sGTM container, map the custom domain and build the server tags

04

Testing

Test every request in server preview mode and compare against browser-side data

05

Validation

Validate in GA4, Google Ads and Events Manager, then document and hand over

FAQ

Server-Side Tracking FAQ

Straight answers before you book. Still have a question? Talk to us directly.

What is server-side tracking in plain terms?

Instead of each vendor's script sending data straight from the visitor's browser, the browser sends one stream to a server container you own. That container processes the data and forwards it to GA4, Google Ads, Meta and other platforms using server-to-server requests.

Usually not. The web container still runs in the browser to capture events. What changes is where those events go: to your server container first, instead of directly to each vendor. Some tags, like certain remarketing pixels, may stay client-side.

The common options are Google Cloud Run, which Google documents for sGTM, or a managed host such as Stape. We recommend based on your traffic, budget and who will own the billing account, and the container is always set up under your ownership.

No. Consent Mode signals and your CMP choices are passed through to the server container and respected by the server tags. Server-side gives you more control over data, which also means more responsibility to handle it correctly.

Yes. A server container runs on paid infrastructure, and cost scales with request volume. We explain the expected cost drivers during the audit so you can choose a hosting setup that fits before anything is deployed.

It depends on how many platforms move to the server and how clean the existing web container is. A single-platform migration is much smaller than a full GA4, Google Ads and Meta rollout. We give a scoped timeline after the free audit.
